21-Year Old Shuts Down Rangers In Game 4

In Game 4, former South Caldwell ace Madison pitched a shut out leading the Giants to a 4-0 victory over the Rangers in Arlington. Bumgarner took the hill looking to stop the Texas Rangers' momentum from a Game 3 win and did just that on Sunday night. Bumgarner went eight solid innings, giving up three hits and walked two while striking out six as the Giants went on to beat the Rangers 4-0. The young left-hander didn't allow a runner past second base the entire game as Texas struggled again at the plate. Bumgarner became the youngest left-hander in history to throw at least eight scoreless innings in a World Series start. The lefty's effort was boosted by home runs from Aubrey Huff and rookie catching sensation Buster Posey as the Giants outplayed the Rangers in yet another dominant performance. Now San Francisco leads the series 3-1 and is just one game away from winning its first championship since moving from New York and will have ace Tim Lincecum going up against Cliff Lee in Game 5.
